How will you get here?

  • 0 -1 year of related training and/or experience in distribution or receiving-related business operations is ideal, but not required for this position.
  • Minimum of a high-school diploma is required.
  • Must be able to prioritize daily work activities to ensure shipment requirements are aligned and accomplished.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate requirements to vendors, marketing and customer service through both verbal and written communication.
  • Build good working relationships with suppliers and external departments.
  • Ability to help solve practical problems related to transportation activities and deal with a variety of situations where there is no clear precedent for action.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • This person will use their analytical skills to identify where deviations from standard procedures are warranted and to support one’s position for corrective action.
  • Ability to wor in a fast-paced, deadline-based environment with a high degree of accuracy and accomplishment.
  • Extra hours may be required to stay until all daily shipment paperwork is completed, especially at the quarter-end of each accounting period.
  • Requires good oral and written presentation skills to communicate ideas and procedures to management and peers. Good organizational skills.
  • Competency in Word, Excel, and Oracle E1 applications is a plus. Valid Power Lift Equipment License, WHMIS and IATA certification is a requirement.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The individual may be required to move boxes up to 30 lbs. in weight. They will spend considerable time at a computer keyboard, composing receiving paperwork, spreadsheets, and handling e-mail. This position requires standing for a period of 8 hours during a 10 hour shift. Operation of power lift equipment is required to move material throughout the warehouse. The ability to pick orders in multiple temperatures is essential. The temperatures range from ambient, 2-4 degrees Celsius and minus 20 degrees Celsius.
